Helping Burn Patients

Bullock Hope House in Powder Springs is opening its doors to the families of burn patients treated at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at WellStar Cobb Hospital. The house will be a place of respite for out-of-town families while their loved ones are in the hospital. “It’s already heart-wrenching enough to have a family member in the burn center,” says Connie Bullock, president and founder of Bullock Hope House. “We give those families a quiet place to stay—free of charge—where they can bond with other families facing similar circumstances. Those sympathetic relationships can go a long way toward helping a family cope.”

The partnership came to fruition over the summer. Already, a charity golf tournament that raises money annually for the house, Golf Fore Hope, has generated $3,400 to the WellStar Foundation to help burn patients. For more information, visit bullockhopehouse.org.
